D-Day

D-Day-1024x537The world was in crisis.  It seemed darkest – Blitzkrieg Nazi invasion  – the surrender of France in 1940 and the bombing of England.

June 6th, 1944 – The Allied Forces chose the beach at Normandy to begin liberation of France and the rest of Europe from Nazi Germany.  By August 15, 1945, WWII was over, The Axis powers defeated, the world could rebuild.  Some studies say that the stock market crash of 1929 and the Great Depression lead to the rise of fascism and the two World Wars were the result.  Only ten years separated the start of the Great Depression and Hitler’s invasion of Poland in 1939.

We find ourselves in another crisis – a 4th Turning.  This phrase speaks to the generational studies at Lifecourse Associates – The Four Turnings.  There are currently six generations alive on the Planet Earth – The Generational Constellation.  If you look at similar timelines – Turnings in Angelo-American History then we are about ten years beyond the starting of the global financial and cultural crises of today and still have about ten years to go until the climax of this current 4th Turning.

WWII lasted six years (1939-1945).  Although I am not necessarily predicting a total war on a global scale, we do know our current institutions are all under pressure (political, educational and financial) and have made promises to their populations that they simply can’t continue to keep.  Change is on the way and unfortunately it will most likely get worse before it gets better.   In the 2030s we will usher in a new Saeculum.  Let’s just hope and pray we learn, survive and move toward even more individual freedoms and individuals taking care of other individuals in their communities and not being dependent on governments and other societal bureaucracies.
