Not even talking about the Donald Trump and Hunter Biden trials which are good for media ratings and that’s leading to increased monetary donations to the Trump and Biden campaigns. No, I’m talking about the big money, power, politics, corporate welfare machine “system” We The People have allowed to grow and become unmanageable.

As a part of the “System” thinking I personally could have an impact and change from the inside has become a pipe dream. Now, it’s a “system” of don’t say the wrong thing or make the wrong person angry so to be put on the list to leave. I’m still hopeful that change is coming, but it will come at a price. This price may be the end of the current debt fueled economy.

I’m my previous posts, I’ve talked about the generational changes during the current crisis 4th turning. I’ve been listening to the audio book “The Fourth Turning is Here” by Neil Howe.

Many of the problems we have in today’s society have been foretold in novels, movies and popular culture. In Howe’s book, he describes certain outcomes that are possible or probable but admittedly cannot see the future, maybe only slightly better than anyone else.

So here is my take on our current situation. The United States has lucked into the most secure, least dependent geographical location on the Earth. The post WWII Bretton Woods Agreement was a strategic move to counter the Soviet Union and the Americans enjoyed foreign goods and growth by buying offshore and sacrificing the American workforce and also elevating the entire world economy. The US economic situation boomed 1946-1964. In 1971, the US dollar had to decouple from the gold standard and became the fiat money of choice for the “petrodollar”. By 1991 the Berlin Wall was torn down and the Cold War was over. September 2001, America was attacked at home and reached out to engage the world in global war on terror. 2008 the stock market and home markets crashed.
The US had booms and busts but continues to dominate the world economy. Only this time we are decoupling the complex supply system we built and quickly on shoring everything our consumers need.
Other countries and economies will attempt to replace the US dollar, but they can’t replace the geography or demographics.

And that is where I’ll leave it for now. No Civil War coming, No World War III (God willing). The United States will transform itself and the “System” again but this time we are only going to assist our closest allies, friends and those willing to pay. Everyone else in this post-Pax Americana will have to fend for themselves.
