Into the (decade) Abyss

Hello again my friends. This entry is here to discuss the decade of chaos 2024-2033.

“It’s the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine” – R.E.M.

R.E.M. – It’s The End…

It feels like everything, everywhere all at once is coming apart. That is because it is.

The end of Globalization. The end of “Pax Americana”. (Which is somewhat of a misnomer due to we spent the last two decades starting wars and trying to liberate people who do not share Western values).

If you are following my blogs here you have seen at least two sites I use frequently to explain the what and the why of this trajectory we find ourselves. The first is the Howe – Strauss Generational Theory at Lifecourse Associates.

https://www.lifecourse.com/about/method/timelines/generations.html

According to the theory, there are four turnings in western societies. The four turnings are High, Awakening, Unraveling and Crisis. Each turning starts and ends around 20-25 years with the entire cycle lasting a long human life, 80-100 years.

Each new turning, a new generation is being born, and old generation is dying off and the living generations are moving from one phase of life to the next.

We find ourselves here in 2024 here entering the back half of the Crisis turning. The important part where everything is completely unraveled from the previous High and Awakening and the institutions and strategies we used to get us out of the last crisis have run their course.

The next site, books, media is from Peter Zeihan and his book “Disunited Nations”.

https://zeihan.com/disunited-nations/

The latest in a series of books covering the rise of America as the lone reluctant super power and the rise and fall of globalization.

No one knows exactly how this Crisis phase will end. Zeihan admits that, but gives some visibility into which nations are set up for success and which are not. Again just because your condition is good for the future, that is not a promise that your future will be guaranteed.

This next decade we will be at the end of the debt based global economic model. Debts are too high and getting higher. Fiat money inflation is enviable making current and future prosperity at risk. Demographics are not set up to continue as we have been, as the Baby Boomers retire and age out.

So where are we headed?

This decade will see changes in commerce, trade, monetary and fiscal governance. Massive changes. Globalists say we are headed towards a “Great Reset”. I believe the contrary. We are headed backwards to the past but without the crash of imperialism that ended at the last cycle. We in these United States will be connected, but not dependent on the wider world. Other nations will scramble to acquire the needed products and services to sustain those cultures. The complex supply chains that ruled the “Pax Americana” globalization are coming undone. They simply aren’t needed anymore. The US is going to defend their own interests and the interests of allies that are willing to cooperate and provide commerce and common defense. Russia and China may be in “Death throes” threats for the short term, but they are in generational decline with no way to change without internal upheaval which seems unlikely. The world will segment broadly into the two hemispheres and seven continents with populist sentiment. This process will take three to five or possibly eight years to complete as trade treaties and supply chains are rearranged to be closer to the end consumers. At the end of the rearrangement period then comes the pinnacle events leading us out of Crisis into the next High in the late 2020s or early 2030s.

How will the decade end?

That is unknown and unknowable. But we can see a glimpse of the changes coming. Young generations are learning to live without debt and teach their peers how to do the same.

Cryptocurrency is providing an alternative to fiat money. Colleges and Universities fueled by loan debt must be reformed as education becomes more online and affordable. Technological advances like Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing and Nuclear Energy will advance and be used in innovative ways to help us move society forward.

We may see the end, or at least reform, of the corporate media complex to include news, opinion and social media. Check out my friends, Adam Curry and John C. Dvorak’s “No Agenda” podcast as they deconstruct the modern media complex.

As control gives way to disruption, alternatives using digital technologies will enable new distributed commerce which may resemble something closer to the barter system. See the “time, talent and treasure” no corporate money or advertising “Value for Value” system pioneered by Curry & Dvorak. This system completely disables the cancel culture and removes corporate media corruption.
