WFH Infinity and Beyond

I am writing you from my new(ish) apartment now as a Gen-X empty nester. March 13th, 2020 – Fourteen Days to stop the spread. Did anyone think this was going to be over in a year? Two? Can’t say I was glad initially, but we have redefined what it means to be a “knowledge” worker. If your work mainly occurs on a computer, like mine, then you became a Work From Home (WFH) natural when the pandemic started in the US. CNBC is saying we are headed for trouble.

My friends at Forbes are pretty close, but without the resiliance of my fellow Gen-X’ers, I doubt we would be doing as well as we are currently.

It’s all pretty fresh and we are still finding our way. Many Baby Boomers are continuing to retire and move. The Millenials are starting to step up and good on them. We knew they had it in them, just needed a forcing function. The pandemic is that forcing function to motivate many – can we keep our edge when we begin to get a handle on COVID-19 and it’s variants? Signs say we will have to sharpen our edges even more as governments around the world continue to rack up debt through out of control spending programs. It will take some creative thinkers and WFH doers to solve the problems we face, but we also have two generations that stand firmly in front of history and will rise to the challenge. Onward!
